Instruction
Planning strategy advice to obtain planning permission and listed building consent for the residential conversion of a redundant building, formerly used by Queen Mary College, University of London, for botanical research.
Project Details
The property is a Grade II Listed Building located to the north west of Brentwood Town. The Stable Block, together with other buildings within the curtilage, are also Grade II listed. The site is located within the Metropolitan Green Belt and a Special Landscape Area.
Our client purchased the property in late 1991, at a time when the building was in a poor state of repair. LPP was appointed to obtain the necessary statutory consents to facilitate a full restoration and conversion to residential use, incorporating internal and external alterations to the main house including related new works. Reconstruction of Stable Block including repair and conversion works to a Clock Tower.
Planning permission and listed building consent was subsequently secured from the LPA for a high quality conversion scheme. Planning conditions have been discharged and a maintained operation undertaken to protect the planning permission in perpetuity.
