Undertake historic buildings research to inform how the buildings may potentially be further adapted to take account of future landlord/tenant requirements and to greater understand the evolution and architectural development and former uses/occupation of the buildings.
Project Details
In 2023, LPP was instructed by OMC Investments Ltd, to advise on the former uses, and development and occupation history of Grade II* listed 2-3 Robert Street, an 18th Century development with a site history dating back to the 14th Century. The site boasts an intriguing and varied history including occupation by famous authors, as well as being among the first houses in London to have been specifically built for letting as flats and chambers.
LPP’s Role
- Carry out historic buildings research from a variety of desktop sources and undertake in-person research at the Westminster City Archives and London Metropolitan Archives.
- Liaise with local historic groups including the Sir John Soanes Museum.
- Undertake site visits to understand the current layout and formation of the properties.
- Liaise with the LPA for detailed planning history and obtain historic records.
- Prepare historic mapping and photograph regression exercises.
- Prepare and submit a high quality, detailed, illustrative historic buildings report.
