Preparing and submitting a planning application for a proposed Community Diagnostic Centre at St Margaret’s Hospital.

As part of its intention to improve and increase diagnostic services at St Margaret’s Hospital, the Trust required a new Community Diagnostics Centre (CDC).

The Trust is committed to providing timely access to diagnostics for the West Essex population, in particular to achieving the 28-day Faster Diagnosis Standard for all cancer and non-cancer patients.

The proposed development will allow effective co-location of diagnostic services and offer streamlined diagnostic pathways avoiding the need for multiple patient appointments.

In 2024, LPP secured planning permission for the new facility and construction commenced in the same year, with the facility due to open in 2025.

• Strategic planning advice including reviewing the impacts of the development on the Epping Forest Special Area of Conservation
• Pre-application engagement with the Local Planning Authority including a Habitat Regulations Assessment screening opinion
• Preparing the application in conjunction with the appointed contractor and the Trust
• Preparing and submitting the planning application for the CDC, including securing planning permission
