Advising on strategy for securing consent, and preparing and submitting a planning application, for a proposed expansion of community diagnostic services at Newmarket Community Hospital.

On behalf of West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, LPP has submitted a planning application for a new building at Newmarket Community Hospital to accommodate Endoscopy and Paediatric Audiology services, as well as staff facilities.

 Preparation of the application was informed by the Council’s pre-application advice and a community engagement event.

 The proposals would expand patient access to Endoscopy services, reduce waiting times, enhance diagnostic capacity while being aligned with NHS sustainability and operational efficiency objectives.

 The planning application was supported by relevant technical information including drainage, transport, landscaping, heritage, acoustic, ecological and biodiversity measures.

· Strategic planning advice.

· Pre-application engagement with the Local Planning Authority (LPA).

· Preparation for and attendance at community engagement event at the hospital.

· Regular liaison with Client and Project Team and coordination of multiple disciplines to prepare necessary reports to support planning application submission.

· Preparation of a Planning Statement and Application Forms.

· Coordination, and submission of planning application, monitoring progress, liaison and negotiation with  Local Planning Authority and statutory consultees.
