Provision of planning strategy advice to secure planning permission for an Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) and relocated Emergency Department (ED) at Ipswich Hospital.

As part of its intention to increase operational and clinical efficiencies at the site, the Trust required a new UTC and relocated ED to provide 3,135sqm of new floor space. In November 2019, LPP secured planning permission and the discharge of all necessary planning conditions.

Since the grant of the original permission, subsequent variation applications have been submitted and approved to provide for additional theatres at first floor.

The scheme is now complete and the facilities operational.

• Planning strategy advice and project management of specialist consultants
• Liaison with Local Planning Authority (LPA), statutory consultees and public consultation and engagement with third parties
• Preparation and submission of Pre-application to the LPA including meetings with Officers
• Preparation and submission of a planning application for the UTC and ED, including securing planning permission in November 2019.
• Preparation and submission of Section 73 planning applications for revisions to the previously approved scheme
• Preparation and submission of applications to discharge of all pre-commencement planning conditions necessary prior to the start of works, approved in November 2020.
