Provision of planning strategy advice to secure planning permission and listed building consent for the reuse and redevelopment of the site for residential purposes.
Project Details
Following the relocation of all the local government functions to Ipswich, the former Babergh HQ Offices Site became vacant and surplus to requirements.
The 1.1ha site is located in an accessible position within the built up area of Hadleigh, and comprises a complex of Grade II*, II and unlisted buildings (3,076 m² floor space) along with areas of car parking and open space.
LPP secured listed building consent and planning permission respectively from the LPA, for a high-quality scheme envisaging the part demolition of unlisted buildings, and conversion of the four listed buildings along with new build to provide 55 dwellings.
LPP’s Role
- Planning strategy advice & project management of specialist consultants and planning process
- Liaison with LPA, consultees and Hadleigh Town Council
- Public consultation and third-party engagement
- Preparation and submission of pre-application enquiries to the LPA and subsequent planning and listed building applications
- Briefing and presentation of proposals to Local Authority Officers, Members and key stakeholders
- Listed building consent and planning permission secured
