Preparing and submitting a change of use planning application to provide Sports Academy Accommodation.
Project Details
LPP secured planning permission on behalf of Aspire Property Services Ltd for a proposed change of use of Maytree Court located in Tiptree from former Sheltered Accommodation to Sports Academy Accommodation including minor alterations. The planning application sought to provide 29 self-contained units to accommodate a maximum occupancy of 58 residents at any one time comprising Colchester United Football Club (CUFC) young players including scholars, on loan visiting players and support/training staff. The approved development also includes parking and private amenity space provision to support the use of the property.
CUFC have previously invested a considerable amount of funds into providing sports ground facilities within Tiptree, principally at Florence Park located on Grange Road. An important part of the Club’s overall vision was to provide an appropriate form of accommodation to house the CUFC young players and scholars within a single managed building with appropriate guardianship within walking distance of their place of works at Florence Park.
The approved alteration works have been undertaken and Maytree Court is fully operational to provide Sports Academy Accommodation.
