Preparing and submitting a planning application for additional staff car parking and an air ambulance helipad on former Bridge School site.

LPP secured planning permission on behalf of ESNEFT for additional staff car parking comprising part permanent and part temporary and an air ambulance helipad on the former Bridge School site adjacent to Ipswich Hospital.

 In respect of the car parking element, the proposed development was concerned with providing additional car parking capacity for patient, visitor and staff use pending more comprehensive redevelopment proposals for the wider hospital site as part of a Masterplanning exercise.

 For the helipad element, this provision allows for quicker and more direct patient transfer to the Emergency Department and would enable critically ill patients to be received by helicopter during darkness hours.

 LPP secured planning permission for the scheme in 2017 and subsequently discharged all planning conditions and sought approval for related scheme amendments, following which the approved scheme was implemented.

 Subsequently, in 2023, LPP secured consent for the temporary element of the car park to be retained permanently which included 31 car parking spaces.
