Planning advice in support of converting a former car showroom to a convenience retail store.

The site on Woodbridge Road, Ipswich comprised a former car showroom, associated workshop and parking area, located to the north east of Ipswich Town Centre.

LPP was appointed to advise on the site’s development potential and seek the Council’s  pre-application advice on a proposed change of use to a convenience retail store with an EV charging facility included within the existing car park.

Following receipt of positive pre-application advice from Ipswich Council, LPP prepared and submitted a detailed planning application for the proposed change of use, supported by technical details to address residential amenity, noise, lighting, transport and landscaping matters.
