Instruction – Planning strategy advice and development brief in support of NHS disposal strategy

Client – Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust

Project Details – As part of a healthcare modernisation programme and estate strategy review, a former learning disability complex was declared surplus to the Trust’s requirements. Planning advice was required in support of a disposal strategy. Following this work, the site has been successfully marketed and sold to a major residential developer

– Secured SPG recognition in 2011 and a residential allocation for the redevelopment of the site
– Prepared a Development Brief containing 3 options incorporating the high density redevelopment of the site for 65 dwellings, a 30 bed care home or refurbishments to provide 13 large single storey properties
